My weekend felt like a week. My Super Adventure Saturday was full of adventure, and the people that took part in it could say exactly the same thing.
I was asked to participate in a movie called “Hemlock” that a few of my classmates are putting together. The movie is being submitted to a competition called “3 Weeks of Terror” and we are the only College team participating. The idea is that we have three weeks to make a 9-12 minute short film based on a particular genre of horror. “Hemlock” is planned to be shown on the big screen at Studio 35 movie theater in Columbus on Sunday, October 26th. I’m not sure of the cost, but if you can’t make it, I will post the video from YouTube on here!
The day started at 7am with a wake-up call from my lovely iPhone. We had an 18 hour day of filming ahead of us. Now, I don’t want to give any secrets away, but it is a horror film centered around the theme “stories around a campfire.” My character, Lily, is the only one out of her friend group who feels compassion towards another student named Michael, who has been repeatedly picked on by her boyfriend and other friends. While she does nothing to help him, she does try to stop the torment and shows some signs of empathy.
Like I said above, the short film caps out at 12 minutes. But, from what we shot I feel like we have a solid film. I got water poured on my head, rummaged through the forest and died (literally in the film and figuratively).
Here are a couple of pictures I snapped.
ANNDD here is the final project..
Hope your SAS was awesome, too!
