This weekend was “Fall Break” for Capital U. Which, in reality, is a glorified weekend. Basically…we got Friday off.
But, good news is I got to spend time with family. Which, was both stressful and anxiety-inducing, but fun.
My cousin Ava and her family came up from New Mexico to visit with us. Ava is 6 years old and has a lot, I repeat, a lot of energy. I swear at the end of the day I felt like I could sleep for days.
Anyways, my Super Adventure Saturday consisted of….
Ava trying on my new knit ear crown I had JUST purchased at Nordstrom. (I say JUST because I was afraid she’d run away with it and tear it to shreds. She didn’t. Yay.)
Me, Ava and Lauren posing for the camera. (Can’t tell Ava is camera-shy, can you?)
We got matching Toothless Dragons at Build-a-Bear because I have wanted one of these since I saw the first (and second) movie How To Train Your Dragon. I LOVE Toothless, and the only way I could go to build-a-bear was with a 6 year old (because no one else would go with me) 😦
Here is my mom and Ava (plus Ava’s Toothless). Can you spot my grandma’s pink iPhone? 😉
This is my Toothless snuggled under my blankets 🙂 I know, I’m a five year old.
We went to a pumpkin patch and Ava had a fun time playing in the bouncy houses. Doesn’t she looked thrilled? It’s a huge pumpkin and there are balloons that are whizzing about in there. Lauren and I stood outside the massive blow up thing and watched all the little children run around trying to catch them all.
My Aunt Cathy and Uncle John had a very nice dinner for all of my family. My grandma, all three sets of aunts and uncles and my cousins were there. We had appetizers, featured below, and the main course was chicken, sausage and pasta. I ate so much I thought my stomach was going to burst. Also, forgot to mention the chocolate silk pie afterward.
My super adventure ended with my head resting on my pillow next to Toothless the dragon. I’d say Saturday well spent. Hope yours was awesome, too! Please let me know how you spent it 🙂
