This weekend was da bomb. My fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity, put on their annual Vocal Academy where we invited 5th-8th graders throughout central Ohio to come for the weekend and learn fun new dances and songs. This year, it was a two day event, with dance and music rehearsals in Friday evening and an all day Saturday adventure where they pick solos and polish their dance moves.
The children we’re super awesome and we had a fun time.
After that SASsy event, I went to the Columbus Jazz Orchestra’s 100 Years of Frank Sinatra at 8 p.m. at the Southern Theatre in downtown Columbus. If you have yet to go to the Southern Theatre, it. is. so. pretty. The stage itself was almost as beautiful as the music it was filled with.
Of course, I dragged my friend Eddie along with tickets I had purchased back in October. We had a slight difficulty getting them at will call, though. Nevertheless, we got awesome seats and we got to listen to some cool Jazz.
I also ended up taking a couple “retro”ish pictures for this week’s WHP (Weekend hashtag project) via Instagram. #WHPretro
Hope you had a great weekend. How was your SAS? 🙂
